Pac-Man: Unsung Heroes
Everyone loves Pac-Man. It’s a classic game, easy to play and transcends all ages. But few ever think about the ghosts that he eats / runs away from (depending on whether you’ve got him to eat the flashing dot). To be fair, they are the villains in the game and everybody roots for the hero, so…
Anyway, as everyone knows, Pac-Man recently turned 30, and Google paid tribute on its landing page by turning its logo into a web-based version of the classic game.
Well, it’s two weeks later and Pac-Man fever does not seem to have died down at all, judging by this guide to Pac-Man Ghosts, which includes the regular ones in addition to more exotic species. Finally, the ghosts seem to say, someone that appreciates us!
Don’t you just love the Kim Jong Il and the KISS versions?! Hello Kitty freaks me out a little though, but perhaps that’s just my inner Hello Kitty-hating self speaking.
Happy Monday everyone! Here’s to surviving another week.

Stylo-Milo Sunday!!!
Nabilah
- Of colours, shirts-turned-skirts, and her almost eclectic dress sense.
What defines your personal style?
I live by four words: Shoot from the hip. Simple pieces make up the basic, but I will add a dash of colour or wear an accessory in a new way to make the outfit more unique. For example, I’d wear a men’s shirt like a skirt, or wear a vest the wrong way round, that kind of thing.
I like mismatched colours, mixing prints and I steal very liberally from my mom and my brother’s wardrobes to supplement what I think is a modest selection of clothes.
And it seems like menswear has a space in Nabilah’s wardrobe too!
I also love shopping in the men’s department: their hats, socks and ties tend to appeal to me more than women’s ones sometimes (plus I’m way bigger than the average Singaporean girl)
Favourite pick of this year? Chunky rings! Seems to be an obsession for me this year but I feel weird if I leave home without one on my finger.
Style to me is…
My rings, Ray-Ban Wayfarers (Did you know that Ray-Ban was founded by Bausch & Lomb? I just learnt that!) and my very-broken-in topshop canvas shoes. It’s comfortable, I can pull it off, and I feel just like myself in it. Works for the scorching weather in Singapore too!

Fun with Animals
The long weekend is here. Like camping? Outdoors? Yes? Good for you!
Do you worry about running into potentially dangerous animals that might not only steal your food, but also rip you to shreds and mangle your bones (assuming you camp somewhere with such creatures, like grizzly bears, of course)?
Well fear not my friend, for the Eaten by a Bear sleeping bag is the perfect decoy!

The Eaten by a Bear sleeping bag resembles a grizzly, down to the teeth, fur, colour and even has a mean beady-eyed expression to boot. But best of all, it fits one human body perfectly – making it the best protection against fellow grizzly bears.
Just don’t blame us if you get a mating call from a real grizzly bear.

Eagle-Eye Cherry
Thirteen years on, I’d say Eagle-Eye Cherry’s “Save Tonight” still kicks ass. We all know it. We all sing it (even in the shower!). But how much do we know about the man?
In case you were wondering, his real name IS Eagle-Eye. Born Eagle-Eye Lanoo Cherry on May 7, 1968, he was named so because the first time he looked at daddy jazz artist Don Cherry, he did it with one eye. Honestly I thought Eagle-Eye Cherry was the name of a band at first! That, or some Red Indian who descended from the mountains.
He hails from Sweden (which good musician doesn’t?!), but is of African descent. Explains all the coolness.
He’s the stepbrother of singer Neneh Cherry. Yes, her real name IS Neneh Cherry. -_-
Eagle-Eye actually did a bit of acting too. In 1993 he starred on the short-lived NBC action/adventure television show South Beach. Not much, but hey, he acted!
So the next time you hear this song, you can drop some trivia bombs and make yourself look just that tad smarter!

The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
Don’t know about you, but as a kid I had truckloads of fun playing video games and The Prince of Persia was one of my favourites. Action, violence, mystery, exoticism and royalty – what’s there not to like?
Now Disney has turned it into a movie, and I can’t wait!
I’m not sure about the choice to cast Jake Gyllenhaal (he of Donnie Darko and Brokeback Mountain fame) as Prince Dastan, but Ben Kingsley and Alfred Molina (who play villainous nobleman Nizam and Dastan’s mentor Sheik Amar respectively) are always a delight to watch so hopefully it’ll still be a ride.
It’s opening here in Singapore on May 27 – watch this space for our raves (or jeers)!
