London style
Happy Weekend, y’all! Loving this video of 100 years of fashion in London from 1911 – 2011.
Favourite decades: 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s and now.
Sidetrack: Have you noticed that the “goodness” of music and fashion started becoming inversely proportionate to each other from the 70s on?

Earworm Saturday: Passenger Fever
No, we didn’t forget that it’s Saturday! We just got distra-
So today we can’t stop listening to Passenger Fever, which is really two songs in one, a smashing mash-up by Go Home Productions aka Mark Vidler of Iggy Pop’s The Passenger and Peggy Lee’s rendition of jazz standard Fever:
Excuse me while I go check out that shiny thing over there now…

Earworm Saturday: We Used to Wait
The simplicity of this song just cuts right through. A song about secret love, longing and lost chances, this one can speak to all of us.
Who cares if no one knew who they were, Arcade Fire truly did deserve that Grammy for this album.

Earworm Saturday: Wolf and I
Now this might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I’ve just got to share it, because it’s just so good:
Oh Land is really Nanna Øland Fabricius, a former ballet dancer from Denmark who became an electropop singer-songwriter and record producer after an injury ended her dancing career.
This one was taken off her second eponymous album, and you can hear more of her electro goodness here.

Love is a many-splendoured thing
Happy Friday everybody!
Here’s a new documentary to warm the cockles of your heart as we celebrate the end of the work week:
It’s called Love, Etc. and it follows five couples in New York City for a whole year on their journey in finding and falling in love.
Here’s one of my favourite quotes from the trailer: “I’ve been married 48 years, but it feels like 48 minutes. 48 seconds.”
A true le sigh moment.
